I understand the TSH is best if under 1

The ranges my family doctor uses are as follows:

Free T3 (3.5 - 7.6 pmol/L) I calculated around 6.2 is the target
Free T4 (9.0 - 23 pmol/L) I calculated around 18.33

I am horrible in math - and read the 'how to's' but.....

I may have used a slightly different target percent of range as you did, but yes, you did your math perfectly.

The formula I use to find a target level is:

Top of range minus bottom of range = A
Multiply A by the desired percentage of range = B
Add B to the bottom number in the range. Result will be your target level.

Let's calculate your FT4 target for an example. I'll use 70% as the target.

Free T4 Range 9.0-23.0

23.0 - 9.0 = 14.0. (A)
(A) 14.0 X .70 = 2.87 (B)
(B) 2.87 + 3.50 = 6.37

Yes, you seem to have done the math right. Those would be good high-end targets.
I'd aim for 50% of the range first, though, to see what that would gain me in terms of symptom relief. If not substantially better, the target can be reset higher. Fifty percent would be about 5.5 for FT3 and 16 for FT4.
