Acupuncture Nerve Damage during Pregnancy

I injured my piriformis muscle in a prenatal yoga class at about 13 weeks. After about 3-4 months this injury was not getting better.

Acupuncture was recommended to me, however, it made the injury much more worse! I am not new to acupuncture and I've NEVER had such an adverse reaction. I am now having sciatica symptoms, and worried that this is more than just pregnancy sciatica and that the practitioner did permanent damage.

How likely is it that the acupuncturist damaged my sciatic nerve during treatment? Will it ever get better? I am normally very active and now I can barely walk to my car! I am now at 6 months and only getting bigger!

Thanks!
