Question Hashimoto's timeline

Does anyone know, on average, how long a person with active Hashimotos disease will suffer from thyroiditis type attacks before becoming more permanently hypothyroid. I'm almost looking forward to it, just because the swinging back and forth is so yucky.
Also, in the beginning of Hashi's if you still have some of your own thyroid function and you are on thyroid replacement, should you be receiving a full replacement dose, a suppressive dose, or a low dose. What has worked best/fastest for some of you with Hashi's?

Re: Hashimoto's timeline

In my case it took over six years after radioactive treatment to become under active. That was 36 years ago. I am still closely monitored by my GP. I have gone on to have other autoimmune problems including psoriasis and the athritis that goes with it. Last week I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis . Everyone is unique,
