Is this too high?

Is a TSH level of 5.450 considered extremely too high?

Re: Is this too high?

The lab that does my blood has an upper limit of 5.0 for Thyroid, however, there is a consensus among many an endocrinologist that anything over 1.0-1.5 is clinically significant. Your symptoms will tell you. I am at 5.11 and feel many symptoms.

Re: Is this too high?

What symptoms do you experience? Do you take thyroid meds?

Re: Is this too high?

I have mercury and lead toxicity issues, which have left my endocrine system damaged. My TSH has been as high as 6.06, and I can tell you that I was very, very ill with this, suffering debilitating fatigue, extreme insomnia, extreme depression, and, an overall feeling of malaise, of which I still suffer.
You might be on a variety of meds, for a while, before you get dialed in. I have been on Synthroid for two months and have noticed only a very modest improvement in symptoms. Fatigue and heaviness in the head (brain fog) are my worst symptoms, at present.
