Test results - hypo?

I have some hypothyroid symptoms (tiredness, muscle weakness, cold feet) and other health problems which are well controlled by medication.

I have thought for a while that I may have an under-active thyroid and finally managed to get the following tests done. These are the results:

TSH - 1.11 (0.15-4.)
Free T4 - 10.6 (7-24)
Total T3 - 1.3 (0.9-2.5)
Anti-TPO level - <1.0

The result is given as Eurthyroid, however, I still have symptoms! Whilst trying to look for more information, I discovered that it could possibly indicate a pituitary gland problem.

Can anyone interpret these results for me and give me a simple description of what might be wrong and what I could say to my doctor?

Thanks

These look like nice numbers to me.

Re: Test results - hypo?

FT4 is clearly on the low side and Total T3 too so it's definitely possible for you to have hypothyroid symptoms, most people would. Your TSH looks great but you're right, together with low side thyroid levels and symptoms pointing towards hypoT it could point towards a pituitary problem or maybe you're just one of those "regular" hypoTs that have a lowish TSH.

Re: Test results - hypo?

Thanks FinnMaid,

I'm just trying to work out now how to persuade my GP to once again ignore test results and treat my symptoms. He's pretty good though so I have some hope!

Re: Test results - hypo?

Good luck You could have Tg Ab tested too, it could be elevated even if TPO Ab is not.
