FNA biopsy/Hashimotos question
I was recently diagnosed with Hashimotos. My endocrinologist sent me to get a baseline ultrasound of my thyroid and several nodules were found. One was 1.7 cm. I then had to have that nodule biopsied. The biopsy was last Wednesday. The whole thing took about 5-10 minutes. I was fine when I went in. Having read and been told that it wasn't a big deal, I was not worried or stressed. I'd had a breast biopsy 4 years ago and that was nothing. That was what I was expecting.
It felt as though the procedure triggered some sort of "thyroid attack." Immediately afterwords I felt depressed and exhausted, nauseous and fatigued. My neck felt sore and my thyroid felt swollen. It is Sunday now and I'm finally feeling significantly better Although my throat is still a bit sore.
Has anyone experienced symptoms like this? Or know anything about it? There is much more to my story (normal I think with these issues). But right now I'm just curious about this.
