leg hair loss
I haven't been diognosed yet but a thyroid problem might be what my problem is.
No health insurance and looking into a low cost clinic.
I have some of the symptoms of low thyroid or even b 12 defecency.
mildly tired all the time.
deep ridges on fingernails.
tingling and numbness.(tingling more like little bee stings)
musle and joint aches.
very very cold all the time.
thyroid seems to be enlarged (I can feel it when I swallow)
The only questionable thing is that I have hair loss on my legs only.
This started 5 years ago and has gotten to the point where I have almost no leg hair at all, lower and upper leg area.
I have male pattern baldness since my early thirties which runs in my family.
I am extremely cold all the time every where but my legs are the worst.
They get so cold and nothing helps all that much. So cold it feels like they are burning.
Walking around is the only thing that helps a little bit.
The other symptoms started about a year ago.
I have never had any other health problems except for a skin condition called Vitiligo. I've had it since I was 15 years old and I am 51 now.
Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease that can be related to thyroid problems.
Has anyone heard of losing hair on legs being a sign of thyroid disorders?
