Thyroid Iodine Scan
hi- Can anyone tell me what the thyroid iodine scan with a pill is like? My doctor wants me to get one but I am afraid! Does the iodine pill make you feel weird or anything like that?Thanks for your help

The pill used in a thyroid scan is a tiny tracer dose only. It isn't enough to be dangerous or to cause unusual feelings or side effects.

I didn't feel or notice anything when I took the iodine pill.. Didn't have any effects.

Thanks for your reply, I am new to thyroid problems and am always apprehensive about tests. I don't know anyone who has had the scan so appreciate the info.Thanks Midwest1 and Austawn
