 More confused than ever - please help
IHi Everyone,
I have been feeling pretty miserable since having a partial thyroidectomy in October. Six weeks after the surgery I became very tired, my joints ache very badly, and I'm breathless upon very minimal exertion. My most recent blood test of last week showed:
TSH 1.38
T4 1.3
Total T3 101
Ferritin 41
Iron 162
Iron Saturation 46%
I'm sorry, I don't have the ranges - they are mailing it to me. I jotted these down quickly on the phone. I asked 3 times for a complete thyroid panel, was assured I was getting that and this is all he did.
So doc says everything is normal and just continue doing what I'm doing (Levothyroxine 50 mcgs, Liothyronine 2.5 mcgs) even though I feel horrible. Why don't I get better? Do I need more T3? A slight increase in T4? I feel very alone in this as none of the doctors I've had seem to be proactive in helping me FEEL better.
What should I do next?

It is quite possible you'd need more T3 - your TSH looks "too high" for someone taking an adequate dose of T4/T3. You really should get FT3 tested but I'm sure your total T3 isn't too high either. You'd also need a doc that's willing to work with you on this but as we often see that's easier said than done
