| Help... Adrenal issues and low thyroid... tests ordered
Hi all,
I was just dx with AI (secondary) last week after having been dx with hypothyroidism the week prior. Started on Armour and got so much worse.. weak, dizzy, jittery.
My symptoms have gotten so much more severe over the past year. Absolutely no stamina or energy for more than a few hours at best. In bed almost all day on most days, temp is 97 to 95 usually.
No coordination and drop everything.
not healing from dental work or muscle injuries.
no ability to concentrate long or have any memory recall.
vision comes and goes. some days can read very small print / other days not.
very hypoglycemic but normal blood tests.. low end after a meal.
always have to remind myself to breathe.
dizzy upon standing. b/p in range most of the time.
always cold but better now that i've been on thyroid med 15 mg in am and i started on my own 5 mg of prednisone for the past 5 days.
finally got into see a hormonal specialist that said my thyroid is waay low, no sex hormones at all at 49 and most likely i am AI.
hard to pinpoint on a test now since i started myself on 5 mg of pred but he did order the cortisol saliva test and the ACTH test along with the IG1?
I tried to stop the pred and armour for a day and felt soooooooooooooooo bad..
I called his office to ask him if he can just treat me already since now my D3 levels have dropped significantly, my T4 and T3 are now low and all the other hormones are depleted..and this new symptom of being hypoglycemic is horrible.
All of this points to adrenal crisis to me so I need help like yesterday.
he called in hydrocordisone 15mg tid and i picked up today.
then my psychiatrist is worried due to my adderall so he ordered a cortisol stimulation test but they wont do it here where I live since he's not a Dr here in the area.
So.. what tests can I do now when i've been on such a low dose of pred for only a few days? Does this sound like i'm secondary or what?
what are my next steps... all my chem panel labs were normal.. but these new sx of low sugar and extreme exhaustion after a little bit of exsertion are all way more significant for sure. I'm really startng to get scared.
help??
