Hi, I have a number of nodules also but none above 1cm. I believe 3cm is when surgery is generally considered if it causes issues. My US showed various nodules along with the hot and cold nodule report. As far as I know, depending on wether they are hot or cold (can't recall which one!) they consider FNA otherwise they are generally just a fluid filled cyst that contains the thyroid hormone but are not suspicious.
You mention you do not have hashi's and I presume not hyper either? So am guessing you have had TSH tests antibodies blood tests etc?
There are some natural ways to try to reduce nodules, diets rich in iodine or iodine supplements (though I personally would not consider iodine unless I showed to be low in it so maybe g that checked) also, Chinese herbal medicine again, under the care of an expert, might assist. Either way, if it is causing discomfort I would keep pushing for treatment to relieve your symptoms. Thyroid meds can reduce nodules but it seems like this has not been suggested either! Lots of people do have nodules and are not even aware and they can come and go but obviously yours is causing you issues, I hope you get some relief soon.
