Anxiety/Depression/Overactive Thyroid

Hi

I have been taking citiliapram for a few years now due to my thyoid levels going to low. A few weeks ago I decided to stop taking them, which I know I sould not have done. Since then the depression came back, with anxiety and my thyroid levels increeased. The depression has now subsided but I am still very nervous and anxious. My doctor has reduced my thyroxine from 150mg to 125mg's a day. Does anyone know how long the low dose of thyroxine will take until things level out. What else can I do to stop with nervousness and anxiety? Does exercise help etc Thanks

You should feel some relief after a week or two. It takes a while longer for things to properly level out but your symptoms should be gone pretty soon. Often a decrease of 12.5 per day does the trick so if you start to shift towards hypoT you might need a dose of 137.5. Exercise burns out some hormone and calms nerves but don't overdo it.

Thanks for your quick reply, will the lightheadedness go to? I panic about going to sleep at night in case I wake up feeling dizzy. I am taking Oxazepam at the moment which seems to help a lot.
