Grrr - can't find that balance between TSH and Free's

HELP! What I have noticed as my dose has decreased is hangnails on my hands and feet (never realized that connection before), dry skin, menstruation cycle long and heavy, tired, moody, not able to sleep past 5am??????. I know it could be so much worse. Do I go back to 75mgs - live with super low TSH- or do I try switching from desiccated to something else? It is shocking that the 15 mgs - swings the TSH that much.......

April 2012 NO MEDS
TSH 3.79 (.20 - 4.00)
FT3 3.8 (4.0 - 6.5)
FT4 12.9 ( 9.0 - 23)
Ferritin 33 (12 - 300) started taking iron supplements in May

May 2012 30 mg THYROID
TSH 2.25 (.20 - 4.0)
FT3 4.2 (3.5 - 6.5)
FT4 13.4 (9.0 - 23.0)

July 2012 60mg THYROID
TSH - .83 (.20 - 4.00)
FT3 - 4.8 (4.0 - 6.5)
FT4 13.0 (9.0 - 23)

October 2012 90mg THYROID
TSH - .03 (.20 - 4.00)
FT3 - 5.9 (4.0 - 7.6)
FT4 - 15.9 (9 - 23)

September 2012 90mg THYROID
TSH - below .01
FT4 - 16.4 (9- 23)
missed the FT3??

December 2012 90 mg THYROID
TSH - .01
FT3 - 5.3 (4.0 - 7.6)
FT4 - 13.7 (9 - 23)

March 2012 75 mg THYROID
TSH <0.01 (.03 - 5.50)
FT3 - 5.4(4.0 - 7.80
FT4 - 15 (11 - 22)

July 2013 60 mgs THYROID
TSH - 1.09
FT3 - 4.2 (4.0 - 7.8)
FT4 - 12 (11-22)

Re: Grrr - can't find that balance between TSH and Free's

you're on dessicated right? If so, either you remain underdosed and have a 'good' TSH (who cares about that? Doctors who are uneducated with regard to thyroid will do so) or you go for optimal dosage and wellness and will have suppressed TSH. Dessicated thyroid hormone (or T3 for that matter) will have that result, there is no way to be on an optimal dosage on any kind of T3 supplementation and have a good TSH within ranges. It's in the prescription information so please check it out.

July 2013 60 mgs THYROID
TSH - 1.09
FT3 - 4.2 (4.0 - 7.8)
FT4 - 12 (11-22)
-> both your levels are way too low to feel good.

hang in there
