The thread Ingrid has referred you to has some good information. Also, throat pressure and pulling usually is the sternocliedomastoid muscle. It's a very large muscle that attaches to the head, kind of fans out around the ears, runs down the side of your face and throat, then attaches to the collar bone and sternum.
If it spasms or gets tight, it can actually draw your head around a little. I recently had a spell of feeling like I was being choked on one side of my throat. Theraputic massage therapy helped it go away completely. It took about three weeks.
