Hello all!! I"m sure you have all seen 1000 questions on TMJ. Well, here's another one!. Except, i'm not sure i believe it's just TMJ. Here is a list of my symptoms and if somebody can relate. pls do!. I have pain between my upper teeth and lower teeth in the muscley area. my lower back jaw (cheek area) feels numb. i feel pain in my back upper jaw (right side) and pain in my right ear, right cheek, and right eye. The doc said soft food diet, motrin, and showing me how to yawn and such. but it also feels weird in the palate of my mouth. Does this make sense to anybody? It's almost as if the entire right side of my head is not right. If this doesn't sound like TMJ to you, but you might have an idea of what it does sound like,, pls post!.. thanks.....

Hi: Your symptoms sound like TMJ to me. I have the same type of pain between my teeth and also at the gumline. I've had a lot of jaw and cheek pain too. Does your DDS think the soft diet will relieve your tooth pain? I hope you find some relief soon. Sue

Hi Sue, and ty for responding so quickly! whew!! He seems to think a soft diet, certain "positioning" when sleeping, motrin and that sort of thing will help. But i never knew TMJ could make your eyes hurt! And your cheek swollen? or your sinuses feel funky!. It even affects the throat too. All these things i DIDN'T know before i started reading on this board. Thank goodness for ppl sharing. Thanks!

Hi:
Your symptoms also sound like TMJ to me. There are so many odd symptoms that it can cause so sometimes (well actually most of the time) it's so confusing to all of us. I have gotten to the place where when any new symptoms appear I just wait it out and if it goes away and returns later I know it was most likely due to the TMJ. So, hang in there.
