Talking Reasons to smile today! (Even if it hurts! :) )

OK, after spend the day yesterday looking like I was trying to surf on dry land and feeling like I was on a dinghy in the middle of the ocean, I woke up today and decided that I was going to be happy. My husband made a comment to me yesterday that was not meant to hurt, but really hit a sensitive spot....he said, "I just wish you could be happy for one whole week." Wow...that sucked!

So, the goal for today is to find things to smile about...so I thought I'd spread some of it around...feel free to verbally slap me if this gets to you on a bad day ! Please know that laughing at oneself is some of the best medicine!!!

1. There are spring flowers everywhere...my favorites. (Ignore the fact that it's only 30 degrees out!)
2. I just had oatmeal for breakfast. (Ignore fact that I've eaten 2000 packets since January 2001)
3. I'm turning 36 soon. (Ignore fact that I'm twice as old as I was when I graduated from high school!)
4. Chocolate is everywhere I turn...thanks Easter Bunny! (Ignore fact that my butt is bigger than last Easter!)
5. I'm off all medication! (Ignore fact that I finally have CRAMPS again...god I miss that Bextra! )
6. I'm wearing my favorite color! (Ignore fact that I'm so pale I look like I spent the winter in the South Pole!)
7. I found this great site and have a great group of people to talk to! (Ok, can't find a down side to this one! )
8. I have a great job! (Ignore fact that we want to move to Atlanta and get new jobs!)

OK, so I'm still working on regaining my sense of humor...what I wanted to convey, is that underneath the pain, the drugs and the sadness...we're still great people! It's probably been a while since we focused on something other than our problems, so try to find at least one thing every day to laugh about or smile at! It will help...if not you, maybe those around you will get a lift!

I hope that your worst day is only as bad as your best day!

Happy Thursday to you all and much thanks for the support and friendship that you show to me and everyone else every day!

Jennifer

Jennifer,

Thank you for this post, it put a smile on my face. I can identify with most of your list! Today I will try to laugh more, and I will count my blessings. I hope that you have a good day, Jennifer.

Cool

Great post!

My list of things to smile about:

1) for the first time since I was 15 I am not on allergy medicine. Decided that I didnt want to pay $30 a month. But the best part is that my allergies arent really bothering me.

2) My husband and I leave on a cruise in 2 weeks, 2 days

3) My jaw doesnt hurt nearly as much today as it did Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

4) A coworker nominated me for employee of the month. The reason I know is that she accidentally sent the email to me.

5) I am so lucky to have a job where I dont have to talk much at all - and that lets me go to my numerous dr. and PT visits without saying anything. AND that gives me great medical leave (fully paid - even the 6 weeks that I was out for fibroid surgery)

6) Im lucky to have this board to ask questions and get support.

7) Did I mention that I am going on a cruise in 2 weeks, 2 days?

Talking

Jennifer
Here is my list:
1. I have a great husband (even though I am ovulating and he was too tired last night)
2. I have gotten the above thing all this week( maybe that was why he was tired)
3. My mouth has stayed opened for 2 weeks.
4. I realized that I can have Frosted Flakes when the are soaked in milk for about five minutes.
5. I have 2 cats that keep me company of I get lonely.
6. For Easter my husband and I got a present, a trip to Catalina Island. (let's hope he is not too tired by then).

This was a great idea. I am in a good mood now!!!
Heather

Heather,
What I am happiest about most is "when" my husband is too tired. Lucky me!!!LOL
