Angry What next?

Hi,

Just needed to vent a bit. 1st splint-upper, didn't work $180. Second splint-lower (hasn't had it long enough to know if it works) $365, go tomorrow for the 3rd splint-cost-? (I'm not sure yet but probably $$$) Third splint is supposed to be used at night only and the second during the day. Problem? (other than cash to fund all of this?) Kid is in school today and throws the 2nd splint into his backpack and forgets, (then throws on top of it) about 100 lbs of books!!!!!!!!!!! The thing is in many pieces. Honestly, do we ever win?

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Oh my GOD! What a nightmare! I had a similar situation happen...as a grown up too! My ex boyfriend thought he was helping me...I asked him to put my splint in a cup of water with a Polident tab...he used almost boiling water. DUH! It sat there for 20 min or so...I found it melted to the bottom of the cup....yep...$400 down the drain!

At least your son is just being a kid!

Cheer up, at least it didn't break while he was wearing it!

Cheryl, Gosh, sounds like you are having a very bad day there. Poor Mike, I bet he feels bad about the splint. And then to have the temporalis pain yet too. It just seems like so much for a kid to have to go through. I really hope they find some way to help him soon. I am praying really hard for him and for you too. How have you been doing? You never say either. Try to hang in there. I know it is extremely hard. Let me know if you get the MRI results today. Take care, Shell

Cheryl,
Priceless is right! Uggh...Hang in there, "hopefully" things will get better. Life is a test and we are definitely being tested.
Take care,
Elaine
