Hi everyone,

Is it just me, or does your splint "tighten up" when you drink something cold? It's like it is contracting of something. Any advice on how to deal with this. It is really bothering me.

Hi Cathleen,

Mine felt like that when I first got it, but I don't think it's the splint but our mouths that make it feel that way. The gums contact when they come into contact with the cold. This has just been my experience. So when I drink I take it out.....lol

You still take yours out when you drink? I am only supposed to take mine out when I eat--3 times a day for 20 minutes at a time. I can't even snack.

I'm sure I'll find a way, though. I noticed I haven't been drinking much because the splint really tightens up and feels like it is squeezing my teeth and gums. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one who has experienced this. I don't know why I couldn't take it out to drink, except that it would be out most of the day.

My doctor wouldn't like that too much!
