Angry Help Please!

I hope someone can answer this question...I have read that tmj can cause confusion? I wake up most nights in a state of confusion, and I sometimes get confusion headaches during the day. Could tmj be the cause of these strange episodes - I guess I can describe them as migraine like things!? Does this make any sense? I still have 4 weeks to wait for my appt. Any info would help me greatly.

Hi-
Confusion and headache, you bet. I had gone to 12 different dentists before I finally was told by the 13th dentist (all referals I might add), that I have TMJ/TMD. I had no idea that my "dizzeness, http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dizzy.gif confusion, vertigo, ringing in the ears, were related. I was just afraid to say anything, I kept thinking there was something wrong with my heart or lungs because of the dizziness and confusion. I can't even wear a bra right now because it pulls on my shoulder/neck stuff. Somewhere on this message board there is a list of the many, many symptoms of TMJ/TMD - I all but one of the symptoms. I feel so silly in not saying or telling my husband about the dizziness/confusion & Headaches. He was sitting in the office with my TMJ specialist the first visit and hearing about all this physical stuff I have been experencing for two years and was heart broken that I had been feeling so bad and was hiding it from him. So speak up, let those know who are close to you the reality of what is going with your body and how that effects your thinking. Sometimes I just stand in the kitchen just completely dazed until I snap out of it and try to remember why I was standing there.
So no, you are not going crazy, you are not.
HOpe this helps
Diane

Wow Diane! I'm starting to feel like I'm not alone! I do the same thing in the kitchen! I'll open the fridge and stare into it until I sort of wake up and wonder why I was there! Thankyou so much for replying - it means a great deal to me!

Check the posts for references to BPPV - Positional Vertigo...or look it up on the internet...it may help to explain some of what you're feeling!

Good luck,
Jennifer
