Hi Cheryl, and Cheryl's husband

Sounds like you had a busy day. Mine are pretty laid back, apart from dental and acupuncture appts, because it's hard to get up to do much. I go to acupuncture once a week, usually Friday mornings. Insurance doesn't cover this and it adds up quickly. I wouldn't go but it's the only thing that's given me any pain relief. It doesn't completely take the pain away but makes it manageable. It would probably work much better if I had a proper nightguard because I'm sure that's causing a lot of the pain. Hopefully, soon enough I'll have a properly made splint which will give me some comfort.
Please thank your husband for his comments and concern; it's very nice to meet him

and I hope he's doing well today, but how can he be, when skunks have invaded Ohio. I think you and I were both psyched about my appt yesterday - it's nice you care. I think I got caught up in the moment, as he seemed like such a nice guy and so knowledgeable or something. But when I really sat down and looked at the money thing, after my eyes stopped rolling around in their sockets (thanks for your math brilliance in figuring out how much $$ I'd have to pull from my tree), I just couldn't see doing it. It would have meant spending $3,800(up front) + $600 (per appt) = $4,400 just to get to appt. 2. What if it was a terrible appt. Too bad, the money's gone. I balanced that against spending $277 for the second appt with neuro #1. If that ends up being bad, I'm still out some money but I can live with that loss (plus insurance probably covers some of the check up stuff). I also feel somewhat comforted knowing neuro #1 will be following a more standard (LVI) route. I still think he's new at this, and may not do everything perfectly, but when I think back 2 weeks, I couldn't even locate a neuromuscular dentist. So, he may not be perfect, but he'll be at least a bit better than seeing a regular dentist to have my problems treated. I don't expect that he'll be anywhere near as wonderful as the dentists you and Diane have. Those are special people, with a really caring heart. I spoke with the treatment coordinator and receptionist today and they'll try to get me in earlier, but who knows? You've only got another week until Mike gets his splint!!!! I hope this helps him tons!!! Oh, have you tried re-using those things for the tens machine?
Anyway, I should get ready for bed. I don't imagine Mike's tens-ed yet, so you'll probably be doing that shortly? Pleasant dreams to all of you.
Hugs,
Arleen
