orthodontist/TMJ doctor appt thursday - TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Message Board

hi all, well i go back for my three week check up on thursday, as YA'LL( yea i'm from tenn)know i had a little set back after many months of being pain free,two days after my last appt my jaw popped an boy did it , i had to get a trigger point injection in the jaw joint it's self an it HURT , well i was so sore that my orthodontist didn't wan't to move my jaw or make anything more sore , so he will do a very complete exam thursday, to see what happed an what he will have to do different, i had got to the point where he was just going to be able to see me every six weeks,an after four good visits he was going to start working more with my braces to finish the job i should have been finished in june next year an out of BRACES finaly, will see thursday what happened an where i go from here, i pray an hope that is still the the timeline for a brace free smile, i have been an ongoing orthodontic BRACEFACE patient since dec 6 2000, not that i'm fussing but i'm realy ready to be out of braces, however i'll be in retainers 24/7 for about three years an then at night for life( yea 85 an still in retainers)but oh well , sorry for the long rambling post. joseph#-#-#-#-#-#martin

hey joseph.

good luck on thursday with the exam. i've never had braces so can't imagine what it would be like to wear them for 3 years, but they do look uncomfortable, so at least you'll have something positive to look forward too. plus, i think being an 85 year old with retainers like a 13 year old would be cool. i'd hang out with ya

Good luck with your appointment Thursday. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that nothing major was disturbed and that you will be out of braces right on schedule.
