Anyone else dizzy from TENS unit - TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Message Board

I was given a TENS unit for at home care and every time I used it, I got extremely dizzy. Has this happened to anyone else? I handed it back to the dr. and he also stopped his office treatment on my head and now places two on the jaw and 2 on my back and I am now not as dizzy as when he place them on my head.
I in fact one day left his office and passed out on the side of the road 5 minutes away (luckily I had pulled over).

Please let me know if this has happened to anyone else? Thanks.

That is very scary. What is the brand name of the TENS you were using? Was it BioTens or ********** (I think ********** only has 3 leads), or was it something else? My dentist's tens machine has only 2 leads on it, I think. It is a BioTens unit. It doesn't work for me. I would ask if he is using an Ultra Low Frequency TENs on you. If he is using a "regular" TENS this could cause more problems from what I understand. Hope you feel better.

P.S. Where did he put them on your head? On the temples or on the back of the neck or where? I've never heard of that.
