Wow.... I am glad to be back! Sorry I've been unable to write -- but I've missed you all -- Arlene, Cheryl,
TC, Diane, Navy, Tiffany... well, just everyone!

I wanted to share that I'm due to have my splint "installed" this Saturday. I've got such mixed emotions... but was so encouraged to read how well Tiffany is doing with her new splint

Horray for you Tiffany!!

How is everyone else? Arlene... are you still planning on working with neuro #4?? TC... any improvements with the chiro adjustments? Diane - hoping you are still our miracle role model!! Cheryl - hope you are doing ok...and Mike is receiving his new splint as I type?

Anyway..I've been struggling along here... my mouth is super sore, and I worry about how the acrylic will feel against inflamed cheeks/gums?? I keep rinsing with Peroxide (Arleen, have you tried this?)

Well... just wanted to check in and let you know I was back on board.

Hi RobynR,

You have been missed!! It is good to have you back. Saturday for the splint, huh? That's good. Did you have appts that we missed? I am having a lot of trapezius pain since the Chiro adjustments. At least I think that must be what is causing it, since I am not allowed to lift weights or do anything else right now. The Chiro is planning to start me on a program now called "pneu-back" (I think he does it with a lot of his patients). Have you heard of this? I think the company who makes the equipment if called Pneumex or something like that. Let me know if you know anything about this, ok? Is it normal for me to be feeling pulling in my trap muscle and sometimes pectoralis muscles with adjustments? Sorry for the 20 questions!!

I tried a massage yesterday, but I was hurting again as soon as she was done.

I am trying to be very careful with the number of adjustments and all. It has been almost 3 weeks now. Friday will be my ninth adjustment.

Oh my hubby is the king of snoring!! Since I have major sleep issues - it's tough being his bedmate sometimes!! I know he can't be held responsible for the noise level - but sometimes it's really sooo loud. I wear earplugs - and use a white noise machine - and even so... Hmmmm - maybe he could use a nm splint too!!

In any case - I hope you are feeling ok, while you await your new splints. I was told today that I would have a long appointment again -- and the actual splint insertion would be at least an hour long (after a tens session).

As I said, I have some mixed feelings - but so hope I have a good response to the splint. I did notice the post by sarahh... scary to think some are claiming this treatment can be detrimental. If it's helping symptoms, my thought is it's a blessing. If it's not - then perhaps maybe we should evaluate if it's the proper treatment for our particlular case.
I suppose it could be the right thing for some of us..and the wrong thing for others. I also hope that it can't possibly be causing irreversable bite alteration..... what do you think here??

Thanks for the tip on Peroxide.... boy - it seems to calm things down a bit... wonder why. I am diluting it. Someone told me it's giving the tissue more oxygen... Do you know much about oxygen therapies??

Gosh, I am sorry you are feeling all this extra discomfort in the traps. I don't think you should be feeling this way from the adjustments...does your chiro?? I could see some passing soreness...but not spasms or pain - do you know what I mean?? Most people feel good after adjustments... do you have any improvement with other tmj symptoms?? As for the equipment you mentioned... I'm not familiar - but took a look at their site. I'd be cautious (which I know you will be)..... it seems they market a whole bunch of different pieces... they show one of a child "hanging" - like a traction type thing. I can't really comment - but you'd need to trust this chiro a whole lot to embark on anything this aggessive. Do you think he has a handle on what's really driving your symptoms??
