Hi! I wish I could give you resources on this board, but the majority of my knowledge about OA is through internet searches and talking to a few people with OA. Here's what I know of so far...
Osteoarthritis rarely affects the jaw. But for those with jaw arthritis, it [arthritis] is mainly due to dislocated disks and the friction of bone-on-bone. This creates wear of the condulars and may affect facial structure. Braces create pressure on the jaw. In a large majority, orthodontic work won't aggravate the jaw so much as to create arthritis. But if you already have arthritic joints, braces can stimulate further damage.
That's what I know so far. Please post if you have any further questions. :O)
