Question Saaraah...Question....

Hi Saaraah,

I notice that you mention using an NTI in the past and developing an open bite from it. How long did you use it for?

i only wore it for about 2.5-3 weeks. it sounds crazy and hardly any dentists believe me when i tell them that i developed the openbite during that short time... but it's true!

if you go to dr. jim boyd's NTI website [the man who developed the NTI], he states that a small percentage of patients will develop an NTI due to "condylar repositioning".

what i dont understand is why my bite hasnt gone back to normal... of course, im paranoid and think that my condyles are melting and im screwed. hmm.

anyway, if the NTI helps your son out, i wouldnt be *that* worried. i'd rather have a pesky openbite than pain..

good luck and take care.

- saaraah.
