Red face What Kind of Bites do we all have??

Hi...im a newbie here...21 female from chicago..

i truly HATE TMJ!!! okey hehee now to my question..what kind of bite does everyone have here..i had braces years ago but i neglected my treatment and im not sure if thats the reason why my bottom jaw has gotten so out of wack but i suffer from the obvious..migranes, dizzinezz, jaw pain etc etc..but i have an underbite that sways more to my left side.I have an appointment to see a TMJ specialist here in chicago but i wanted some advice first...knowing i have an underbite would any kind of splint therapy help me out or do you guys think my only option would be surgery ..GOD!!! i hope not..any ideas??
thnx

I, personally, suffered from an overbite due to a tongue thrust that was not diagnosed when I was a child. But, a friend of mine had an underbite, had surjery, and then braces, and it fixed the problem. I don't know any more specifics than that. Wish I could be of more help.

Kind of a weird question but I'll answer since you asked.
I have overbite and something my (new) dentist calls a "forced bite" (don't know how to translate) because my mouth is too small.
I recently had my wisdomteeth extracted so we'll see how it goes from there. My former dentist made the mistake to not put me up for braces, so it's possible that my tmj is caused because of that.
I have headaches for about 7 or 8 years if I remember correctly...hip hoi!

I have a 2 mm anterior open bite. More info on my teeth: many many cavities on back teeth and extraction of tooth #7 for resorbed root...awaiting implant but cannot proceed as I am not sure what they're going to do with my bite.
