 TC - your question about a Permanent Splint
Hi TC!
I wanted to get back with you in regard to your question about a permanent splint. I think the question was concern over super eruption and compression of the teeth with long time use of a splint. ie permanent.
That has been a concern of mine so when I was in seeing Dr B yesterday, I asked about this. Especially since I have a lot of bone/gum loss due to my TMD.
If I choose to go with a perm. splint instead of restorative work, the perm splint will be just that. I will not remove it, it will be cemented to my teeth, a complete seal so decay will not occur, etc. etc. It would need to be replaced about every 5 years. So that made me reallllll happy!
