Oh good, I guess it was a glitch. I guess I could use this to my advantage then...
So I went for my 1 month followup with the UCLA TMJ Clinic. After 2 months of wearing a splint, physical therapy (once a week), Xanax, taking glucosamine & chondroitin (spelling?), I've been feeling a little better. My opening increased from 33 mm to 42 mm and I rarely get clicking when I talk. The only thing that bothers me is the tired feeling, occasional lower back pain, horrible neck strain and occasional right jaw pain. I also have some hyperacusis although its not so bad that I avoid blow-drying. In any case, my UCLA Dr. is shocked by my improvement. He cannot explain any of the hyperacusis or vertigo I had. Apparently "these are not symptoms of TMJ." Its almost as if he refuses to believe I have TMJ despite the bilateral dislocated discs and condular wear. I find that a bit odd...but the fact that I have seen improvement...I guess I should stick with this doctor. Anyways, just wanted to post an update. School starts in a week...hopefully things don't get worse as I have a mother of a biochem lab to take in the fall...supposed to be the last premed weeder course. Yeesh...
