i'd start by getting a proper diagnosis and go from there. in the meantime, you could try out massage therapy, physical therapy, and/or osteoapthy to get some relief.
i like using cold to ice my sore muscles, but some people like moist heat - just dont do it for very long.
umm.. that's all i can think of so far to do immediately. i'd try to find a competent dentist to help you, and dont do anything irreverisble or drastic before exhausting all of the conservative options.
