For those with anterior open bites and TMJ/TMD...

Have any of you considered equilibration/crowns to close your bite? I've been on splint therapy for over 3 months now and will get models done early November. My tmj doc will then "sand off spots" in order to see if there is any way to close my bite. Of course we won't do anything until my neck pain calms down. If you've any any success with this sorta of treatment or have heard anything about it, please post. Thanks!

I have an open bite since I had surgery. The option I was give was only braces. Have you thought about getting another opinion? Just a thought.

*if* i get my pain under control [yah, i know.. im not very optimistic] with my new splint, i doubt that im going to concern myself with closing my openbite. i really do not feel like fooling around with it especially if my pain gets better.

i guess i'll see how im feeling about it, tho, in 6 months or something. i'd rather have an openbite and no pain.
