Question What are your symptoms?

I have been full circle with symptoms starting with vertigo and imbalance. After about 12 weeks and doing balance exercises for my imbalance, which is helping, now my symptoms are seeming to fit TMJ.
They are:
-tight neck
-feels like my head is too heavy
-arms feel heavy at times
-slight tinnitus
-ear fullness that comes and goes (feels like pressure from in pushing eardrums out)
-fullness that goes from neck to jaw area, under ears, across cheeks, across the bridge of my nose
-when I open my mouth wide, it crackles, not enough for others to hear, but I can hear
-if I sleep on jaw, will cause pain and ear to fill and hurt sometimes
-neck makes crunchy noises when I turn my head from side to side
-sensitive to noise, noise actually seems to make my jaw and area fill up, weird!
-when I think back, I would have neck stiffness like this where my head felt heavy just once in awhile and for about a year I have been noticing that my bite when I chew gum just didn't feel "right" wasn't painful, just didn't feel the same
-also, I can't say I am in pain, except for a stiff neck and mild ear aches. mostly fullness and pressure

Well, that is about it for the symptoms at this time. Does this sound like TMJ? I hadn't thought about going to a dentist for my ailments. Should I go?
Appreciate your input!
Thanks!
Vicki

imo, it sounds like you have some symptoms of TMJD. especially since you're having problems [ie, pain, ear problems, and joint noises], i'd definitely recommend going to a dentist and getting a proper diagnosis, so that you can be certain that you have TMJD.

in the meantime, i'd recommend using cold on your joints if they're sore, and massage therapy is always nice. i've also had some success [functionally] with osteopathy, but it hasnt helped my pain at all.

take care and good luck.
