A Myotronic tens unit is made by Myotronics. It does not stimulate the nerves like the rest of the tens units out there. It stimulates the muscles that are all irriated from the TMJD. It pushes out the toxin build up in the muscles, bringing in fresh oxygen & blood, helping to possibly relieve some of the TMJD symptoms. They can only be purchased from a Dr or dentist.

I have a question for you Diane. Do you know if you can try any of these devices before you actually purchase one? I am thinking they might be expensive, and then if they don't work you are out the cash.
Hi Michelle -
Well, my dentist had an extra one and just sent me home with one as I was in such a mess. Perhaps a dentist or dr would let you try one in their office???
They are expensive though, I paid.... gosh, I think I paid $605.00 for mine, geez I can't remember! I think Cheryl paid less for hers. So you would want to be sure it helps before purchasing.
Hope this helps

We purchased one of these units for home use for my Son. He used one in the office prior to us buying one. I know that Neuromuscular dentists use this type, I'm not sure if any other dentists do or not. The cost for us was around $585, but it sounds like some dentists charge as high as $900 for them. Before buying one, I'd make sure that it worked for you. My Son uses it and it helps him, as for myself...it almost seems to make me feel worse. Hope this helps!
Take Care,
Cheryl
