Hi Cheryl,

Whew! What a busy last few days it has been. Sorry it took me so long to write you. Emily did go back to school yesterday. Boy, I was glad. She was up my rear the whole day Monday. I love her dearly, but like you said, I got nothing done. Anyway yesterday I did Meals on Wheels in the morning and then had to go back for a party to say goodbye to a guy that is leaving in the afternoon. Today was groceries, cleaning, errand running, my niece's tennis match, .....the list goes on. I cannot wait for my head to hit the pillow tonight. Luckily those headaches are gone right now and I am feeling pretty good. There is some truth that when you are busy you don't notice the pain as much.

So, you have ideas for Mike if the splint does not work? That is great news. I am sure you will find the answer Cheryl. You sound alot like me where that is concerned. I am one to keep researching and checking things out until I find what I need. How is the splint working for him? Any differences since he is over his cold? When is the next appt with the neuro. dentist? And, how is school going for Mike? Is he still having lunch with the girls? Any one girl that sparks his interest yet? My niece (the one that is 15) just told me that she is almost "going with" some boy. I didn't know that they still called it that. I remember my Dad used to ask where we were going?

Poor Holley with those "hot spots". Hey, do you know if cats can get them? My one cat seems to have a shedding problem and also itches at himself like crazy at certain times of the year. (spring and fall) And we know it is not fleas, we checked him thoroughly. I hope Holley is feeling better with that soon.

Well, I better get moving here. Want to get Emily to bed and then myself. I have to watch my tape of my soap first. That is how I unwind before bedtime. Take care and I will talk to you tomorrow. Michelle

Hiya Cheryl,

Finally had a chance to sit down and write you back. What a week. It never did slow down. Well, with my great Uncle's passing I had the viewing last night and funeral today. It was sad but also nice to see my Granny's family. I finally got to meet my Dad's one cousin that I talk to via email and she brought me the last Christmas card she got from my Granny. In it my Granny had written her a message about staying strong and how you have to keep going. It was one of the stories she had told me that I always will remember (it's a long one so I won't write it) and reading it in the card made me feel so good. When I get down I always remember what she said.

You are right, my soap is GH. Do you watch it? I have been watching it since I was a kid as my Mom watched it.

How is Mike feeling? I hope his physical went well. I don't blame him for being sick of Dr's and dentists. It gets monotonous.

So sorry to hear about Shadow. You really are having it hard on the pet front right about now. I hope both her and Holley start to get better and do not suffer too much. It is so sad. I really feel for you on that one. You are right, maybe with my cat it is allergies. He doesn't get those raw bloody spots. Sometimes scratches a small spot open but not big ones. Guess I should get him checked. We had him shaved 2 years ago (he has long hair) and it was after that. Maybe the way the hair grew back in bothers him.

I woke up with a killer headache today, but not the bite kind. I think it is just the stress of the week. It feels a bit better as the day is going on and I finally took some tylenol so hopefully it will go away.

So, anything fun going on this weekend? Emily and I are going to put up our Halloween decorations tomorrow. She loves to decorate and is very meticulous about it. Sunday Mike is in another quoit tournament and Emily and I are going to church. It is my Sunday to teach Jr. church.

Well, I better get going here. Almost time to figure out dinner. Take care and hope all is well, Michelle

Hi Cheryl,

Oh gosh, sorry to hear that Mike broke his splint in the back like that. Have they ever tried a thicker one for him? Mine is very thick after the build up the orthodontist did to it last year. I don't think I could break it and if I did then wow, I would really have a problem. The only trouble is with it being so hard when I clench on it certain times of the month it gives me a headache. My headache from Friday did ease up some though. I was glad for that this weekend. I am still taking 1/2 flexeril every night and it seems to still be helping alot. It still makes me nice and relaxed and I am sleeping well.

So, what do you think will be the next step for Mike? Have you found any Drs. with the research you have done? Keep me posted as to what you decide to do. His appt. with the neuro dentist is the 30th right? Is that only 2 days or is it Oct. 30th? I am still praying for Mike and I know God will help him soon.

How was the weekend? We had a nice one here. Pretty relaxing for once. Emily got her costume today. She is Blossom from the PowerPuff Girls. And it was only $5 on clearance. Guess it was from last year. She likes that show now though since she is getting older. They do still trick or treat around here but only in your own neighborhood. We sometimes get alot of kids that we know are not from around here though but I give them treats anyway. Some of the neighborhoods are not safe to trick or treat in and I think that is why their parents bring them here.

Well, we still need to eat dinner so I better get moving here. Hope this week is good for you and that you find some answers for Mike. Take care, Michelle

Hi Cheryl,

That is good that you talked to a specialist. I hope he isn't too far away? Maybe a thicker splint is what Mike will need. I know that when mine was first made it was pretty thin and it really did nothing for me other than protect my teeth at night. Then when the orthodontist built it up and my bite got balanced out when wearing it my jaw and face relaxed alot more. It was only during my PMS week that the headaches came on so bad because of clenching on such a hard splint. But it seems to be the only one that helps me and if I take the flexeril along with wearing it at bedtime I feel pretty good on most days. Maybe the new specialist will try a harder splint on Mike. Is he a dentist that specializes in TMJD or is he a neuro dentist? Keep me posted. And how has Mike been feeling lately? I hope not too bad so that he can enjoy some of these teen years at school etc. I cannot imagine having to go through this at his age. He will surely be ready for any challenges later in life after this one.

Not too much else is going on here. Just another busy week with the normal stuff. I don't see the chiro till next Tuesday the 7th. We waited 3 weeks this time and so far, so good. I am having a massage that day too. It will be PMS week so I will probably need it.

As for my bite it has been feeling comfortable the last couple weeks. It would be nice if it would stay that way, but it never does. But the longer it does the better.

How are you feeling Cheryl? I hope half decent since you have so much to do with finding the new Dr. You are such a great Mom.(I know I said it before, but it's true)

Well, I better get going here. I have a bit of billing work to do yet before I pick Emily up. Let me know what the dentist says on the 2nd and if the specialist can help. Take care and talk to you soon, Michelle

Hi Cheryl,

Just wanted to say hello back and let you know that I consider you a good friend too. I appreciate your listening to me too. It always helps me to write to you. Still wish we were neighbors though.

Sorry to hear about your bad cramps. I usually only take tylenol too as anything else totally upsets my stomach. I know what you mean about it only taking off the edge. Being a woman is just so much fun. Hopefully when we get a little older (not that I want ot age fast or anything) our hormones will change and we will feel better with all of this. (my dentist said I will)

Tell Mike to keep hanging in there and that we are still praying for him. Let me know when you hear from that dentist. Hopefully he will get back to you quickly.

Well, I better get some work done today. Take care and talk to you soon, Michelle

Hi Cheryl,

Oh yes, it is too cold here already too. I think it was only 40 this morning. Our heat has been running alot too already. I am not ready for those oil bills. This house uses so much compared to our old house. Higher electric bills too. My Granny always said it was a money pit. Now I know why!

I will be praying for Mike today with the dentist appt. I hope once you get the molds and send all the stuff to the new dentist he calls you right after he looks at everthing with some good news that he can help. Someone will be the one that can and hopefully he will be the one. Keep positive thoughts. I am praying for you too.

I am feeling okay here. PMS is creeping up on me though and I must have been clenching some the last 2 nights. It's not too bad though. I am so glad that my neck has been feeling good. That chiro really helped me. Now if only it would help Mike with his back. But I have a feeling there is something more to it there. The day the chiro took an xray the machine was not working right and it came out all blurry. Maybe he will take another. Mike sees him again today. He has been going 2x a week for 3 weeks now and has not seen any improvement. It is hard for him with his job as a mailman to sit in the mail truck all day. He hurts worse when he sits.

I am so glad tomorrow is Friday, how about you? I just need to sleep in Saturday. Emily has a bowling party to go to for a girl at school that day too. She is all excited about that. Sunday I think we are going to take her to a fall festival to pick out a pumpkin, go through a corn maze and have a pony ride. I hope it warms up a bit.

Well, let me know what happens today at the dentist. I will be thinking of you at that time. Take care, Michelle

Cheryl,

I am so happy for you and Mike that things went so well at the appt. yesterday and that the dentists are going to be working together. Sounds like things are finally falling into place and help is on the way. For the neuro dentist to admit he needs help is a good sign. God is bringing the best people together to help Mike. He is answering all our prayers. And it is so good to hear you sound so happy too. I know that it must have been a big relief for you to have the appt. go so well and have some possible help and people on Mike's side. Yay!!!!!!

Hope Mike has a fun weekend with his friend sleeping over. Those are probably his best one's. We are looking forward to the pumpkin patch on Sunday and it is supposed to be a bit warmer too. I am so ready for the weekend. This week just seemed long.

Oh, Mike has always had trouble with his back. He had injured it when he was in the marines and they never were straight with him as to exactly what was wrong. Yesterday he had another treatment so that is 6 total so far. The chiro is waiting till next Thursday to see him again and said they will see how it feels then and take it from there. He may send him for an xray at the hospital xray dept. He did mention that a month off from work to rest it might help alot since Mike does repetitive movements all day. (I said "no way") (haha) Actually Mike doesn't want to do that. He has plenty of sick time but he likes to keep saving it.

Well, I better go here. I didn't realize it was time to go get Emily. I will talk to you soon and have a great weekend. Take care, Michelle
