Removal of wisdom teeth causing TMJ dizziness?
Hi all. Just had a question. Been dealing with dizziness resulting in staggering like I'm drunk, along with anxiety, headache, etc. since May 2000. I was told years ago that I had TMJ but never really had too many problems. Right before these symptoms started, I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled. Several months later, I developed a severe ear infection and my ear drum ruptured. Then came the vertigo and all the other lovely problems. After three and half years of no definitive diagnosis, I am coming to the conclusion that this may very well be TMJ related. I had severe pain on the right side of my face around the joint for about 5 months. A CT and MRI showed a "lesion of unknown etiology." I was recently told that the so-called lesion may be nothing more than inflammation from the TMJ joint and muscle. A panorex showed black on the one side, and I was told that meant that the joint was slid back from the socket. Looking into a mouth guard, but don't have the money right now. Any info. from anyone? Thanks.
