it's actually "bad" to breathe thru your mouth all of the time. it strains the muscles around your throat and can cause other problems during sleeping - you get less oxygen and whatnot. i dont think that mouth breathing reduces clenching and grinding since i do both, and ive been a lifelong mouth-breather. i didnt realize that it was abnormal until i recently saw my new dentist.
if a child is a mouthbreather, their palate may not form correctly, too, i believe.
