$300splint VS. $700splint - TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Message Board

I have had ortho. treament for 4 years and had the braces removed..the ortho felt he couldn't do anymore for me. The reason I went with the braces was to relieve my jaw pain by correcting my bite...underbite and openbite. I am still hurting..popping, clicking and have major muscle tightness in my face.

Now I am seeing other orthos. about a splint and one the orthos. that was referred to me by a local oral surgeon charges $700. I went for a consultation to a different ortho. that only wants $300.

My question..are basically all splints the same?

Any recommendations of people to see in St. Louis,MO?

Hi Chad,

No, all splints are not the same. Splints seem to cost all different prices. My kid has had 6 or 7 so far. The costs have ranged between $100-$1310. All of his splints have been different. I'm sorry that I can't help with a referral for your location, maybe someone else can. Good Luck.
