| What Do You Think?
Hi everyone,
Please let me know what you think? I had TMJ 14-15 years ago and the dentist made a mouth guard, which I didn't wear too much. I haven't had a problem all these years. Then last year I had several huge fillings replaced, and I think I may have gotten it again, or maybe it's something else. I don't recall any pain like this before. It is awfull. It's in both joints, and when I put pressure on them it feels better. My ears hurt and I have pain under my jaw. Also, I just broke out with 4-6 canker sores all over in my mouth.
In the morning I'm fine, but as the day progresses, the pain gets worse. It' almost unbearable, and certainly extremelly uncomfortable. Heat helps, and maybe aspirin (I can't really tell, because I've only taken it once out of desperation).
I am allergic to advil type drugs, and cannot tolerate pain pills at all. They give me headaches, and I throw up, which causes me to get dehydrated. Then I have to take antinausa meds to keep water down. Given the above description of symptoms, what do you think? Does it sound llike TMJ to you, and if so, where does one start? Who should I call first, my Dr. or Dentist? There seems to be conflicting information, and it's all new to me. Sorry to go on, and on. Thanks in advance for any replies. I've read some of the posts, and I get confused...
