Help with the blurry vision - TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Message Board

I had forgot that blurry vision was one of the symptoms. I try and blink it away which really doesn't work. I had an eye exam with a snooty little Lt.JG on base, I thought I did very poorly, but she said all I need is a slight prescription, I could get into reading glasses if I wanted to save money. I haven't yet bought them.

My vision started going blurry maybe in Dec., really noticed it in Jan. Why does TMJD affect my vision and what should be done for it? or rather what can be done for it? I love to read.

Oh, also, does anyone feel agitated? I've been feeling agitated the past few days, kind of restless. May be due to something else though.

Hey there,
I too get blurred vision from tmj, can last for a long time,and chronic dizziness.
I dont know what can be done about this, i had an eye exam and had 20/20 vision.
Its horrid the vision thing, really makes me anxious.
I have read in many symptoms for TMJD, that vision can be affected, there are so many nerves etc around the area, that get compressed.
Sorry i couldnt help more, someone else here will have some better advice.

I, too, have vision trouble. It's one of my chief complaints, along with headaches above my eyes and at the base of my skull, and a dizzy feeling. I don't really have pain in my jaw. It's awful. I originally thought it was my astigmatism, and was having trouble finding contact lenses that I could see out of. I have come to find out it is TMJ. It was only recently that I put all of my symptoms together. Very scary.

I have it too - sometimes one eye lid feels like it can't stay open and sometimes my eyes just get "stuck" where I feel like there is so much pressure under them they can't move. I usually end up tugging on the skin under them to get them to focus again.

Does anyone ever get a tightened feeling under their chin or in their neck? I constantly have this feeling on the right side of my throat like I am being choked?
