Hello! I will be leaving in a few hours for surgery. I now have to stay until Friday at Shands since I have an infection in my body, but NOT from my implants. So I will get back online as soon as I am feeling better. Thanks For ALL the SUPPORT!!!!!!!

Tandy,

This is Gena, Shirlett's daughter. My mom asked me to post and let you know how she was doing. She just got out of surgery 5 1/2 hrs (one of the better ones I would have to say) she is fine, but they did not put a new implant in. All they did was take the left side out and wire her mouth shut. ***** means another surgery sometime in the near future. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.

Thank you so much Gena. I'm sorry to hear they didn't put the implant in, but at least she's out of surgery! I'll be thinking about her during these next few days. I know how hard it will be.

Hey Tandy,
I am home and NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tested positive for a Bacterial Infection and my implants on the left side did not look right so they took everything out. The GOOD NEWS is there is NO infection within my implants so I can now have a CT SCAN and have the left side put back in I hope within the next 6-8 weeks. My left Fossa will have to be remade but everything else can be reused. I am just so upset that they felt they needed to take them out and I know he had to make a very difficult call taking them out, I have it first hand that he did not want to take them out and him making the call made my surgery go longer than scheduled. So I am wired for the next three weeks and have NO movement at all. Pure Liquids. Not fun. I will be in touch. Sleep..Sleep that is all I want to do right now.
