Looking for specialist in Seattle.

Does anyone know of any TMJ Specialists in or around Seattle. I have found some neuromuscular dentists I'm interesed in but am also looking for a "mainstream" dentist that specializes in TMJ. I'd like to start there since the NM Dentists are so expensive. Also, I am currently taking Fiorinal for pain and occasional headaches. OTC drugs don't work for me. Have you found any good natural pain relievers. I have been taking Magnesium and have tried a few other things thanks to everyone on this board. Thanks in advance.

Re: Looking for specialist in Seattle.

I'm seeing a DMD in Bellevue... he's not my regular dentist, but he's doing a great job with treating my TMJ.

I just read the rules and it looks like you're not supposed to post the specific name of a doctor or dentist in here... is that correct?

[For more information about the board guidelines, you can read them by clicking the "Posting Rules" above. You can name dentists or doctors by state, province, country, or city. Just do not provide detailed contact information like phone numbers and street addresses etc. Thanks - Well-come Moderator.]

Okay...

This Dr. is in Bellevue... Jeffrey W. Doneskey, DMD Oral Medicine and Facial Pain Center..

Seems to be working for me, but it has only been a few months.

Re: Looking for specialist in Seattle.

Trixit - I have multiple symptoms. My jaw clicks and pops terribly, facial pain and numbness, headaches (migraine type, tension and sinus). Earaches, neck and shoulder pain..... depression. I go in for an adjustment to the appliance on thursday.

The swelling around my jaw joints has been reduced, my headaches are definitely getting better. Everything seems to be improving at this point. I've had the appliance (night guard) for about a month now.

Good luck!
