Do you get ear pain/neck pain as the only symptom of TMJD?
I just wanted to know how many of you just get ear pain and neck pain as the only symptom of TMJ flare up? Is it only in one ear? What do you do for it? Is it usually just on one side? How bad does your ear pain get? Thanks everyone, stay cool! It's hot out there!

Singer1- I get the neck, ear, cheek, and temporal spasms. I am on Naprosyn for the neck, and of course seeing a TMJ specialist and just praying my symptoms subside. I was having continous buzzing in the ears but that has lessened a little. The cure will be to get the joint in the right place- and I hope that is soon.

Have you been told that your joint is out of place? What kind of dr. diagnosed your TMJD? How long have you had it and do you do anything else for it besides pain meds?

Singer1- I guess my joint is not where its suppose to be. I don't have the clicking in it- just a lot of ringing of the ears, temporal spasms and that. I am seeing a tmj specialist and wearing a splint 24/7 I guess to move my jaw back and up. It started because my new denture was make to high and one of my back molars was too high.
I've had it since March (3 months after wearing my new denture), but I just started with this new dentist 6 wks ago. I did go to PT before that but it didn't help really.

ive had it in my right ear for many years.. did not know till recently that it wasnt actually an ear problem lol. ive gotten headaches and some neck pain.. but i never could really attribute it to TMJ, so i cant say that its from that. i think it is at its worst now because i am going through stress and anxiety.. and then i grit my teeth all day and esp when i sleep. my doctor told me to put a warm washcloth on the area for 10-15 minutes to help..so i did that one day.. i need to start doing it consistently. also he said ibuprophen can help and he also told me to get "o24" and he said it is a kind of oil that soothes the nerves there? i haven't gotten it yet.

I only get neck pain. It's not actually pain, it's really stiffness. It occurs on my left side because i lack vertical dimension on that side. I also have a slight blurring vision.

Hi I have tmj and im waiting for a double jaw replacement. I have a lot of trouble with my ears a nd neck. My ears feel sore if i lay on them, it feels like im going to have an infection, and my neck is continually stiff I think it may be because im stressed all the time. Im from the uk and im 53 i have always had stress even when i was younger. Take care Judy.
