Has anyone had any success with the drug Amitryptaline? My doctor recently put me on it for migraines and TMJ. Thanks for any info!

I have been treated with this drug. It has been helpful for sleeping and reducing clenching. Taken as an add-on to Neurontin or another anti-convulsant, it can be very helpful with the pain. You have to give it some time. Unfortunately, it often causes weight gain. That happened very quickly for me.

Did this help with your headaches and facial pain as well?

I have been on this since Dec. last year, and it's great!!!! I can sleep through the night, no clenching and it's helped with the depression I was feeling due to the pain I was in.I've heard it helps with pain relief, but don't use it for that, so I can't say for sure. I haven't had any weight gain with it. But, then again, I couldn't chew for 6 of those months, so how could I gain weight?
