How to gain better posture? - TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Message Board

I know a lot of us on here dealing with the tmj thing have some sort of posture problem, mostly head forward. Has anyone been able to improve their posture by doing anything that you can share with us all? I 'm really trying to improve my posture, but its a challenge and at work its even harder because I sit at a computer all day. Let me know please..any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated!

I do the excersizes in the book " Taking Control of TMJ" by Robert Upgaard religiously. It's done wonders!!! I can definitely feel the difference in my posture from what it was to what it is now.
Basically you have to be conscience of it ALL day and correct it when you slouch. THen eventually you notice you don't have to correct it as often because you are already sitting or standing straight.
Like every thing else with TMJ...it's gradual.

Why you say that, has the book helped your pain? I have the book and although I found it very interesting and I followed the instructions it has not helped my tmj pain.
