Anyone else have involuntary jaw muscle twitching? - TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Message Board

On the side where I have TMJD and had a displaced disc locked forward and then treated with splint therapy, I have developed a permanent (or so it seems) twitch in my masseter muscles. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, what do you do for it? It is very annoying! I've gone thru a lot of rule out other conditions tests and they found nothing else wrong with me.

Yes, I have a twitch as well. It seems to come and go, it gets worse when I am under extreme stress. At times it causes me to kind of stutter when I talk. I have learned to just put up with it as nobody seems to know how to treat it.

Sorry to hear you have the same problem, but good to know I am not the only one out there with this freakish side effect.
