Yes there are treatments for this.
Find a GOOD TMJ specialist. That can be a major task in and of itself.
Don't worry that you messed yourself up permanently or something. There are treatments that are successful, you just need to find a really good specialist who won't mess you up more.
Read through the threads about conservative treatments, and recommended doctors. Then do your own research. You need to do more research with this issue than say any other joint, because it tends to be harder to get quality care for the TMJ joint.
