Thanks for your concern - I was kind of wondering where you were - hoping you haven't been here b/c things got better for you. How've you been and what have you been doing?

I am seeing someone in Westchester (Yorktown Hgts) and I go in Monday for the 1st fitting of upper & lower splints which I am greatly hoping will help. He said it will take several appts before I actually get them though. Although I still have the pain I am feeling better mentally and emotionally - I think I am finally starting to learn how to cope with it a bit more. The diagnosis I got from Columbia has kind of made me realize that not all my problems are tmj related since dystonia is actually a neurological or neuromuscular movement disorder - I guess b/c it affected my jaw and neck area the drs I consulted with including myself assumed it was all tmj - kind of explains why I have tongue spasms, which I noticed not many here in the tmj forum mention that often. Since I made the classic mistake of allowing my bite to be permanently adjusted - I'm kind of worried that even if they can stop or ease the dystonia I will never be comfortable with my bite again.
