Splints - how long for it to start working?

I've had my splint for 5 days now and am still in as much pain as before. My pain is mainly headaches with some jaw joint discomfort. I've read a couple of posts where people have had immediate relief and whilst I'm pleased for them it really disheartens me that I haven't. I know I have to give it time but I was just curious how long and how many adjustments it has taken people to start seeing a reduction or elimination in their pain?
