Does anyone have any info on Dr Ira Klemons. I was told he is expensive but knows how to help. I have an appointment in a few weeks. Please help share any experiences good or bad ?

Try doing an Advanced Search on this forum with his name - there should be a few posts mentioning him from previous discussions. I found his web site a couple years ago and asked about him and I remember one member saying he gave a good dog and pony show but was very expensive - and there may have been a few posts that said he did help them and a few that thought he made things worse - but that is the case with most dentists - they can help some but not others - so try not to be pursuaded by that - just go and see what you think yourself. I would be interested in your opinion once you have met with him though so please post how your appt went when get the chance. Thanks.

I saw him but did not go further than the x-rays. I had no functional temps and they could only make an appliance for $6,500 as I remember. They wanted me to commit to all their treatment plan upfront and sign papers. But I could not get any answer on how I would be living until that.
I did not like the lies that "my insurance" will certainly pay for smth which surely it did not b/c they are not a even dental office. On the other hand, it seems based on their big number of comments, which they will give you at the 1st appointment along with many other papers, that they do help some people.
Me too, I will be very interested to know your opinion and impression about them. I guess it depends on what you need.

I have been searching and just like you said some good comments and some negative. I have heard that he is very expensive also. I just hope to find someone that can get rid of or a least reduce the frequency of the headaches.

I will definitely post after my visit to let you guys know how I made out.But be rest assured that i will go into his office with my guard up Thanks......

Some tmj specialists have a staff which handle insurance issues and will submit claims on your behalf to Medical insurance since most cover treatment of myofacial and craniofacial pain disorders if they do not cover tmj per se - as many of us know dental insurance seldom covers much for tmj treatment. All of my splints were covered by UHG when I had them as a private ins provider under my employer - and some of my splints cost $3K each - so ask about that as well. Also, if Dr Klemons office offers other treatments like tens unit, acupuncture, cranial sacral therapy, trigger point injections, etc. that may be covered by health insurance as well.
