It might be best if you start with just stretching, rather than pushing. When you do press the trigger points, remember your neck muscles are fairly small and might not need much pressure. Also, you may find significant tension in the trapezius muscle, which is a bit safer to play with.
You might also benefit from one session with a professional. It's easier to keep the muscles loose once the worst of the tension has been broken up. The international MYOPAIN society doesn't seem to have any members listed in Jordan, though I did see one in Saudi Arabia and one in Israel. Perhaps they could refer you to someone closer to you.
