Anyone have Fibromyalgia also? - TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Message Board

I've been reading a lot of people with fibromyalgia have TMJ problems. I just saw my GP today (for something else) and she told me, I didn't bring it up, that I could possibly have it. My mom has it, and some Dr.s think it is genetic. I'm not diagnosed with it, but I wouldn't doubt it if I am later. I'M ONLY 23

Good news, my disc was in its place for about 1 1/2 weeks. It was still sore 24/7, but I didn't have as much pain. It's out again as of two days ago

To add to all of that, the reason I went to my GP, I have a kidney infection. Ugh.

I know I'm all over the place here, I just have a lot going on in my mind right now. I just want to feel decent again.

I have a lot of body aches all over now, but after the tmj started and all the bite changes, so no I did not have fibro. I have heard they go hand in hand as they both affect the muscles. I hope we all find relief soon.

Many med drs do not feel that firbro is an actual disease per se but a response or symptom of something else going on. My "fibro" - which is overall body aches and fatigue - almost like having a bad case of the flu or arthritis started after my tmj issues - which btw started when my bite was affected by new bridge and crowns. Initially I thought I was developing RA as my father did - even noticed my joints in other parts of my body changing in appearance and mobility. But b/c I see my symptoms change in response to chiro treatment or even wearing splints - I tend to think for me my "fibro" is more the result of an overall structural misalignment due to an unstabile bite and muscular overload.

Thanks for replying. I have began to keep a sort of journal on a calendar telling me what date something is wrong and when it stops. I am also adding physical activities and weather conditions on it, as I seem to flare up after I do a lot of physicall things and when it is cold outside. Hopefully this will help me understand what is going on with myself more. It just seems everything is falling apart on me, so I am just worried I could have something else as well. A little hypochondriatic, but think I have a just cause for worring because I just feel so bad most of the time.

Lindy 23 I also have fibro and also Tmj and matter of fact have yeast infection and kidney probs as I type this.
